Study of a Canadian utility lunar rover

December 2025 – Designed in collaboration with Canadian academic institutions, this rugged all-terrain rover—engineered for the Moon’s extreme environments—incorporates advanced autonomy algorithms, MDA SKYMAKER™ space robotics derived from Canadarm technology, and can be operated remotely from Earth. Watch the first prototype being tested at the Canadian Space Agency.

The CTA receives significant support from the Government of Canada

August 2023 – Élisabeth Brière, Member of the National Assembly for Sherbrooke and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Mental Health and Addictions and Associate Minister of Health, on behalf of the Honorable Soraya Martinez Ferrada, Minister of Tourism and Minister responsible for Economic Development Canada for the Regions of Quebec, announces the awarding of more than $850,000 to the CTA.

November 2025 – The CTA was honored to welcome the Canadian Space Agency team and its President, Lisa Campbell, on November 12. This visit highlighted the strength of the university-industry collaboration model that drives our work.

A visit that reaffirms the CTA’s role in developing cutting-edge technologies for lunar exploration!

THE CTA HOSTS INNOVÉÉ MEMBERS FOR THE CONNECTÉÉ EVENT

November 2024 – The CTA welcomed members and guests of InnovÉÉ to the Rendez-vous ConnectÉÉ, which was held in the Estrie region for the first time. Participants had the opportunity to explore the CTA’s facilities and expertise, as well as attend a panel discussion on the importance of collaboration between industry and academia for the development of projects and specialized resources.

The CTA awards $10,000 to deserving teams at MégaGÉNIALE 2025

October 2025 – The CTA and BRP are proud to support and collaborate on the outstanding work of four graduating teams from the 2025 cohort of the Expo MégaGÉNIALE, organized by the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Sherbrooke!

The teams that stood out and received a grant to bring their projects to life this year are: Datasight, Kei-EV, RUSH, and VOLTORQ.

Congratulations to these deserving teams, and best of luck in the upcoming competitions.

The CTA is opening its doors to mechanical engineering students from the UdeS School of Engineering

April 2025 – The CTA opened its doors to mechanical engineering students from the UdeS Faculty of Engineering for a tour of our facilities as part of the “Introduction to Scientific Research” course. This inspiring annual event allows students to explore a workplace related to their field of study, meet industry professionals, and learn about internship and study opportunities available at the CTA.

Special thanks to Professor Raymond Panneton and the Faculty of Engineering.

The CTA welcomes a group of students from École l’Envolée in Granby

February 2025 – Because the CTA is committed to supporting young people’s development and interest in science and technology, we welcomed a group of motivated students from École l’Envolée in Granby to introduce them to the exciting world of vehicle engineering. This visit followed their participation in the Expo MégaGÉNIALE, a stimulating event that opened the doors to innovation for them!
